The writer who thinks
like a marketer.

I'm Kit Morris, a Perth-based content writer and strategist with 15 years of in-house marketing experience. I bring a journalist's instinct for clarity and a marketer's eye for what actually moves people to act.

I grew up in Northampton, England in a house full of books and notepads. My father was a journalist and publisher; someone who genuinely believed in the power of a well-chosen word. That had an impact on me early in life. My childhood bedroom was lined with hand-drawn comic books, comedy sketches, and the beginnings of at least a dozen unfinished novels.

That love of storytelling led me to study at university and then into journalism, where I learned to write quickly, clearly, and with the reader's attention firmly in mind. Radio newsrooms became my happy place - they have a way of stripping out everything that doesn't need to be there!

Eventually I moved from reporting on the world to helping businesses communicate their place in it, and I haven't looked back! I now live in Fremantle, Western Australia with my wife and our cats, working with businesses across Perth and beyond.

My Professional Career

Before going freelance, I spent 15 years working inside marketing and communications teams across some very different industries. That breadth is one of my biggest assets!

I know how to get up to speed quickly, write with authority, and think about content strategically, not just creatively.

Why It Matters For You

Most freelance writers fill a brief. I help you figure out what the brief should be.

Having spent years leading content from the inside, sitting in strategy meetings, interpreting data, managing stakeholder expectations — I understand what businesses actually need from their content, not just what they ask for. That means you get someone who thinks about the buyer journey, not just the word count.

Content strategy: Planning what to say, to whom, and when, built around your goals.

SEO copywriting: Writing that ranks well and reads like a human wrote it. Because one did.

Journalism instincts: Tight, credible, interview-led writing. No fluff, no filler.

B2B fluency: Comfortable with complex industries, finance, SaaS, government, education.
